Morocco

Since 2003 Mercy Hill Church has been sending teams to Northern Morocco to serve and bless the people there.  At Mercy Hill we feel that we have been and are being blessed by God.  Because of that, we are called to be a blessing to all the nations (Gen 12:2-4)

We love Muslim people and we delight in serving them.  We also have a passion for widows and orphans because it is said, "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction..." (James 1:27).

Morocco WorkFor these reasons we are excited about continuing on with the opportunity God has given us to let Christ's love shine in the Rif mountains of Northern Morocco.  In 2004, a massive earthquake rocked this area destroying thousands of homes.  We have had the privilege of sending teams to help clear rubble and rebuild homes as a way to show and share the good news of Jesus.

If you would like further information about the details of the work please visit http://www.gatewayma.org/services/home-restoration-program/

Thousands of homes need to be built, and we have had the joy of building homes for widows, and seeing many come to faith in Christ.  As a result, for the first time in centuries, a small church has been established.

We believe that it is critical that we send short term teams (one to two weeks of four to fifteen people) to this region until God calls us to stop. This is not only important for the people we are serving but also for the team members that are going.  We have seen much fruit in the hearts of those that have gone.  No one has come back in the same spiritual condition as they left.  Christ seems to do mighty work in Morocco and all those that are willing to serve there.
